How to check whether the chain is still suitable or needs to be replaced.
Insert one end with the existing hook and try to insert the other end, if a small part of the spike goes in, chain is suitable. If half of the spikes goes in, it's time to worry about replacing the chain. If the spike goes all the way into the chains, it's time to change it.
